Obituary for Jonelle Guy

Jonelle Guy was born July 3, 1935 in Tunapuna, Trinidad. She was one of five siblings parented by Winifred Scott. Upon completing HER education in Trinidad , she met and was joined in Holy Matrimony to Carlton Guy on April 9,1961. They were blessed in this union with four children; Sharon, Dexter,Curtis(deceased)and Ronald. During her early years, she was captivated by the unadulterated teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She participated and loved her church work. Nothing pleased her more than to sing the songs of Zion, and she treasured the warmth of the fellowship of the Church worshippers. She appreciated the worship and praise of other Protestant Denominations. However, the love of the Lord was always foremost.
Known affectionately as "Ma" her culinary skills and talents in West Indian cuisine delicious breads and cakes were known throughout the neighborhood. Her greatest pleasure was walking her dog Spot.
In 1986, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from The Lehman College of Nursing NYC. Her work included the Visiting Nurse Service of NY , the Concord Nursing Home of Brooklyn,NY Ruby Weston Manor Nursing Home, Four Seasons Nursing Facility , Schulman and Schachne Institute of Nursing and Rehabilitation at Brookdale Hospital , Brooklyn N,Y, As a registered Nurse, doctors and administrative staff frequently made positive comments concerning her work performance and competence. She took great pride in her work as a Registered Nurse and was always dignified in her appearance. What as inspiration she was to her children and grandchildren.
On Saturday June 2, 2018 apparently 6:30 PM at the Four Seasons Nursing Home. Our devoted Jonelle, our devoted mother, our confidant and best friend, departed this life to a brighter, kinder world above.
Proceeding he in death were: her mother, Winifred Scott, brother Hgh Scott, son Curtis Guy, and grand daughter N'dearia Guy.
Jonelle Guy leaves to treasure her memory, her husband Carlton, daughter Sharon, son Dexter and Ronald (melissa) and step-daughter Angela; grandchildren Shania, Jared, Ariel Sharay, Jayson, Teresa, Ashley, Juwan, Briana, Elijah, Mekhi, Parrish, Jordan, Jada, Jaden, Aniya, Madison, Victoria, Ronald JR. great grandchildren Fuquan, Isaiah, Jasmin, Soraya , Marcus Jr, Keyarah, Trystan , and a host of Nieces,nephews , cousins friends and neighbors.
