Obituary for Cora Credle

Mrs. Cora Credle, the eldest daughter of Rebecca Roberts and Eli Rutledge was born on July 27, 1927, in White Hall, South Carolina. Cora was educated in the South Carolina school district.



In 1945 Cora was united in holy matrimony to James E Credle and blessed with two daughters. She then moved to New York City, where she worked several jobs. In 1969 Cora received her certification in Dental Assisting and Business Administration from the Manhattan Dental Assistance School. She then went on to work for the government at the Veterans Administration hospital where she dedicated 22 years of service. After retiring Cora was baptized into the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.



On Friday, May 24, 2019 she gently closed her eyes at New York Methodist Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, James E Credle; her daughter Evelyn Credle; her sisters, Bessie Mae, Annabel, Ella Mae and Roseal; her brothers, Eli, Esaw, Jacob and John; plus her parents; sisters-in-laws Mary, Jane and Isabel and her brother-in-law’s Herbert, Willie, Matron and Samuels.



She leaves behind her daughter Denise Credle; her grandson Larnell Hendricks; granddaughter Donasia Credle; great grandson Tyreek Hendricks; great great granddaughter Jourdin and her two bonus great granddaughters Noni and Clementine. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and her close friends; Ms.Caldwell, Ms.Brown, Ms.Brewer and her neighbors to mourn her passing.



Cora Credle also known as (Granny) will be truly missed for her kindness, sense of humor and wisdom. She was willing to help anyone without hesitation.
