Obituary for Joseph White

Joseph White
Joseph Emanuel White , was born to Mary White and Joseph Corbett on September 21, 1952 in Harris Village, Montserrat. As a child growing up in Montserrat, Joseph was always extremely jovial and full of smiles which he greeted everyone with. He carried that smile with him through his life, and even in his final days when sickness and pain became his daily routine.
Joseph joined the Montserrat Police Force and the tender age of 22 and moved up the ranks so that upon his departure from the police force he was the Captain of the Police Launch. -a fitting position as he lived the sea. During his years as a police officer he served under several Governors and one of his favorite was Governor David and his wife, Mrs. Dale.
Joseph was also stationed at many of the police stations across Montserrat. He enjoyed being a police officer and was also looked upon as one of the best investigators in his time within the force. Joseph left the police force in 1987 and thereafter migrated to the United States. Upon arriving in the States, he went back to school and changed his profession to become an automotive body repair engineer. He enjoyed his work and was very passionate about it. Sadly, in 2017, he had to retire from his profession when he became very ill.
Joseph loved life and many who knew that at times he was the life of the party as he loved music and he loved to dance. Joseph was always cooking for his friends when they would come to visit and would be ready to help them in time of need or transport some where ever they needed to go.
He also loved singing gospel music. On Sundays, he would turn on the computer and tune in to radio Montserrat just to hear whatever church service was been aired and then wait for the golden years program to come on. He loved quoting scriptures and could often be heard reciting Matthew 5 verse 16 "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.'
Joseph, Joe, Daddy Sinky or as many know him, Sgt. White was a beloved son, brother, father, father, uncle, cousin, husband, a police officer, auto body repairman to many , friend, left many to mourn when he departed from our midst on Sunday July 15, 2018. We were not ready for him to go. We thought we would have many more days to be in his presence, many more opportunities to talk and see his handsome smile but alas, it was not meant to be. We need not be disheartened or Discourage however for he is in a better place now and his pain is over.
Left to Mourn are; his mother, Mary White in Montserrat; his father Joseph Corbett living in London; his wife Leona Samuel-White in Brooklyn; his father-in-law James Ponde in Montserrat; his aunts, Vivian White, also known as Ms. Eve, in Montserrat, Francelia(Cece) White in Curacao; Martha (Olive)White in UK; Mary (Girlie) White in Antigua.
