Obituary for Jesse Earl Durham Sr.

Jesse Warren was called home and reunited with his heavenly loved ones on April 19, 2018.

Jesse was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 16, 1949 to George and Hazel Warren. A native Brooklynite, Jesse attended elementary and junior high school in Brooklyn and went on to attend Boys High School in Brooklyn. Following high school, Jesse joined the United States Army. After serving his country, Jesse enrolled in college to pursue his undergraduate studies. He was also employed with the United States Postal Service for several years.

As an intellectual who loved his people, Jesse enjoyed reading and studying African-American history. One of his favorite books was The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Jesse also loved technology and was very computer savvy. Not your typical senior, Jesse was an avid and tiresome social media follower.

Loved ones knew Jesse as an introvert who appreciated and valued his alone time. He was also known to push the buttons of many. Jesse had no filter and no tolerance for nonsense. He could drive you mad and into fits of laughter with his blunt nature. He was either offensive or hilarious, there was no in between. That was Jesse-love him or leave him! We loved him and we will miss him.

Jesse joins in heaven, his parents, Da-Da and Ma-Hay; his son, Terrence; his siblings, Bobby, Greg and Mickey; his niece, Cynthia; and his nephew Parrish. Jesse leaves the legacy of his children, Sharese and Omar; and his grandchildren. Jesse also leaves to mourn his siblings, George(Junior) and JoAnne; many nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
