Obituary for Mary Jane Thomas

The obituary
Mary Jane Thomas was born December 31, 1938 to the marital union of the late John Greene
and Mary Waring Greene in Georgetown County, South Carolina and later moved with her
parents to Horry County in Conway, South Carolina. Mary Jane was one of nine Children Seven
Brothers and one Sister.
Mary Jane was educated in the public school system of Horry County in Conway, SC and
graduated from Whittemore High School in 1956. After High School Mary Jane left South
Carolina for New York City.
New York is where she met the love of her life and was joined in holy matrimony to Robert
Thomas Sr. and to this union four Children were born. After her fourth child was born Mary
Jane decided to give up her job as an Assistant Teacher and become a stay at home mom to
help raise her beautiful children.
At an early age she accepted the Lord as her personal savior and she joined Bethany Methodist
Church in Brooklyn, NY, where she served faithfully.
Mary Jane always treated everyone with love and respect. To know her was to love her, the
love of her life was her beautiful and awesome family.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 30 Years,
Robert Thomas Sr., one daughter Cynthia Thomas Malloy, five brothers, Thomas Greene, Joe
Greene, Western Greene, William Greene, and Rosevelt Greene.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: Her Children, two daughters, Yolanda Thomas and
Tarsha Thomas of Brooklyn, NY and one Son Robert Thomas, Jr. also from Brooklyn, whom
now resides in Greensboro, NC, three grandchildren, Shakeema Thomas, Aniya Thomas, Kerah
Foster and one great granddaughter Zuri Ahiale; one Sister Cecelia Minor of Newark, Delaware,
and two brothers Fred Greene of Georgetown, SC and Seman Greene of Sanford, FL. And a
host of nieces, nephews; relatives and friends.
