Obituary for Melanesa Toy Williams

Melanesa Toy Williams was born on December 16th, 1966 in Cumberland Hospital, Brooklyn,NY to Mr. & Mrs. Richard & Meriel Williams. Her two older sisters Yvette and Tizu had the pleasure of giving her the middle name Toy. Toy grew up in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn.

She attended PS 67 until her parents bused her out to PS 176 in Bay Ridge in hopes of a better education. Toy went on to Dyker Heights Junior High School then on to Maxwell High School where she later transferred to FDR High School. Her parents moved to Oakland, California when Toy was in her last year of high school. Upon finishing high school in California, Toy worked in several casinos in Nevada as well as working in the Nevada school system. Toy returned to New York in 1999 where she worked for Local Union 1 as an apprentice plumber then moved on to working as a Fire Safety hazardous specialist at Biltwell construction.

Melanesa loved to watch movies, Shopping , hanging with family and friends She also had a nurturing spirit.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: two sons Roy Richard Johnson Jr. and Abayomi Bellamy, her sister Tizu Arrington, one brother-in-law Mark Arrington, nieces Azure McPherson, Emerald Arrington, Jasmine Arrington and nephew Martiz Arrington, Antonio Arrington, Great nephews Marquis Arrington, De'Marco Arrington and Great Niece Jade Arrington. Melanesa predeceased in death by her Mom and her oldest sister Yvette and nephew Mark Arrington Jr.
