Kassim Anthony Matthews was born on March 24, 1989 at what it now called Interfaith Hospital. Through the years he moved around a bit from Bedford Stuyvesant to Crown Heights Brooklyn which he called home. Most of his roots stemming from Smurf Village residing at 14 Hunterfly Place. A place where most of his friendships were bonded. But there was no friendship that came close to the one he had with Aaron (A-Bo) Edwards. People talk about day ones and He was the true definition of a day one. Kassim went on to move to Crown Heights residing at 1208 sterling place, while attending Paul Robeson High School where he graduated. After high school aside from holding down multiple jobs, with construction and con Ed. He also has a few ups and downs but he turned his life around for the betterment of his children. Kassim was a hard working dedicated dad. His whole life was being a better father to his girls. Up into his transition he made sure that they were more than ok. He occasionally attended church at St. Pauls in East New York. Kassim is survived by his three daughters Kyleigh, Rylee and Morgan Matthews, his grandmother Brenda Matthews, his mother’s Jacqueline Chance and Michelle Matthews, his siblings Raheim Parker, Quaruan (Doobie) Chance, Johniqua (Myzee) Chance, Gerald, Eric, Michael, James, Michelle, Jamel, Darius, Tyrese Matthews, Aunts Dana Matthews and Robin Chance, Uncle Eric Matthews, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
