Delilah Elizabeth Watkins was born on February 12, 1950 at Lincoln Hospital in Bronx NY to Eileen Clarke and Clifford Weston. At the tender age of eight, Delilah’s family moved to Brooklyn New York where she continued her education and received religious instruction through the Catholic Church accepting God in her life at a young age.

Shortly after high school, Delilah met and married James Watkins, while starting a family she worked many odd jobs such as clerical, waitress and foster parent.
In he mid 1980’s Delilah was hired as a direct care worker for mentally disabled adults and was promoted to supervisor, where she continued to work until accepting an early retirement package. Delilah then continued her passion for helping people by devoting her time to the Ebbet’s Field Senior citizen center where she cooked and used her talents to plan events for them, but was well known for her delicious cakes, lemonade, fish frys, barbecues on and off the basketball court, and she gave endlessly to those who were less fortunate.
In her spare time she often babysat, watch movies on the hallmark channel, listen to gospel music, play cards and bingo on her cell phone. LaLa as she was affectionately called by her nieces and nephews was a people person very kind caring and giving to anyone in need of help or to just lend a listening ear to those who confided in her. She also was a caregiver to her ill mother Eileen Conwell as well as other seniors in Ebbet’s Field before falling ill herself.
Delilah departed this life on Wednesday October 9, 2019 at the New York Presbyterian Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn New York. She was preceded in death by her father Clifford Weston and sister Diane Parkins.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Eileen Conwell, her children James Watkins (son), Lisa Watkins (daughter), Rashad Weston (son), Siblings John Conwell (brother), Deborah Weston (sister), Adrian Conwell (brother), Alice Mason (sister), brother inlaws Eddie Falercheri, Tyrone Parkins, daughter inlaws Robin Scalesse, Marsha Thompson. Son inlaw Sean Thomas, Grandchildren Kyon, Shelby, Trinity, Alani, Morgan, Layla and Trent, Great Grandson Carson. Longterm friends Charles Sutton, Carlton Ford, Amber Green, Marilyn Robinson, Additional friends and supporters Deborah Cole, Olivia Laidlow, Patricia Williams, Valerie Williams, Edith Degram, Dollie Campbell, Laurie Mantar, Margie Ray and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins extend family and friends.
