Joseph Edmund Kenreich was born July 22nd 1972, in Indianapolis,
Indiana. He went to be with the Lord on February 21st 2020.
Joseph was an NFT Certified Master Trainer from 2010 until 2020, and was
based primarily at Sports Clubs in Mid-town Manhattan, “Big Joe” was
known for his unique approach, and love of training. He was devoted to his
colleagues, clients, club members, and the auxiliary staff at these facilities.
Joseph, known for his booming voice when training clients, whether in an
active session or within ear shot, were familiar with the following refrains:
“Freeze!...Pump It!...Its Your House!...Bonus Rounds!...Break it
Down!...My Weight!...Walk in the Park!...Come Out like a Gorilla, Bench
like a Gorilla!...You Got This!...Eat Big! ” John Challice, who trained with
Joseph for ten years, offers this remembrance: “He would often miscount,
usually to the disadvantage of whoever was lifting. You’d have 11
done...but he was still on 9.”
Joseph is survived by; Robin Silver-Merriweather, his daughters, Shante
Kenreich, Shakia Kenreich, JaWaun Kenreich, and his grand-children,
Janaria, Destiny, Noah, Makaile, and MiraBella.
