Obituary for Magdala Augustin

Magdala Augustin-Burin was born on September 7, 1977 to Jean Augustin Sr. and Gizelle Augustin. She is the 3rd of their 7 Children.

Maggie, Magz, Magum or Dala was how she was affectionately known by many and Auntie Maggie to her host of Nieces and Nephews. Maggie was granted her angel wings on January 11, 2021. Her final weeks were spent surrounded by family and friends during the holidays, that Maggie had touched in some way or another throughout her short, yet very memorable life.

Maggie graduated from George W. Wingate H.S. and obtained her Associate Degree from Capella University. Where she was currently working on obtaining her BA in Accounting. Maggie's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile, her kind heart, forgivable spirit and generous soul brought so much joy to all friends and family.

Although she left us suddenly, she gave us all such courage to humble ourselves, apologized to one another and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She loved to sing; cook; travel and her family. She could spend hours laughing and joking and playing games with her husband, siblings and those she loved so much. She enjoyed music and directing the choir and traveling to South Africa, where she would lend her voice in worship and praise. She was so excited about planning her church wedding in 2021.

Maggie is survived by her loving husband: Anthony Burin; her caring mother, Gizelle Augustin; sisters: Marie Jenkins, Nahomie Augustin, Esther Augustin, Paulette Augustin & Gina Charles; brothers: Emerson Augustin, Jean Augustin, Jr. & Rockefeller Augustin; a host of Nieces & Nephews too numerous to list; a host of cousins, aunts and uncles too numerous to list.
